A new chapter in the story of Bedminster...

Live here------------

Our plans for the regeneration of St Catherine’s Place will create over 250 homes. Many of these will have dual-aspect and open views, to Windmill Hill to the south and central Bristol and beyond to the north.

The redevelopment is likely to take place in a number of phases, with the first one, Catherine’s House, already complete.

“St Catherine’s Place has the potential to kick-start the transformation of this part of Bedminster and we’re keen to play an active role in the regeneration of the area”

Catherine’s House

The conversion of the former office block Catherine’s House is the first part of the wider St Catherine’s Place scheme. The conversion has produced an eight-storey residential block, featuring 54 one and two-bedroom apartments.

These new homes were designed to appeal to the local market 80% were sold to buyers from the area. Launched to the market in the summer of 2018, nearly all of the apartments were sold within the first six months of being released and residents began to move in during December 2018. They are all now sold and occupied.

“St Catherine’s Place is an exciting new development that will create much needed new homes in an underused part of Bedminster. The location is very well connected, being within easy reach of the city centre and Temple Meads. The combination of new homes, new retailers and improved public spaces will help breathe new life into this area.” Ross Kieran, director, Ocean New Homes

The Future

Next to Catherine’s House is a proposed 16-storey tower, stepping down to 9 storeys to the rear. The tower will be framed by shops at ground level and by wide, plant-lined pavements. The double-height lobby will lead to one, two and three-bedroom apartments whilst the roof will welcome residents to a communal room with excellent views looking south towards Dundry, north to Clifton and west to Ashton Court.

Along Dalby Avenue towards the junction with East Street, we are planning to build about 30 homes, in two separate buildings, as well as creating a far more attractive street frontage for pedestrians, car and bus users.

Our proposals for the comprehensive redevelopment of St Catherine’s Place, including 205 new homes, are due to be considered by Bristol City Council in November 2019. For more information, see Our Plans
